For photographer Silvain Geselle, the creative journey is an intentional step backward into the shadows, where details soften and stories emerge. Operating under the name Pale Piece, Silvain creates fine art photography that honors the delicate balance of light, the tactile quality of a traditional print, and the moody, painterly aesthetic of the 19th-century Pictorialist movement.
A Foot in Three Worlds
Born in Belgium and deeply shaped by the rich artistic heritage and misty skies of Flanders, Silvain has been a resident of Spain for many years. This unique life path blends two contrasting worlds: the melancholic, low-key atmospheres of the north and the intense, high-contrast interplay of light and shadow found in the south.
His lens wanders seamlessly across three distinct realms:
- The Street: Searching for quiet characters, long shadows, and the timeless rhythm of human movement through urban spaces.
