Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2026
These terms govern your use of [www.palepiece.com] and any purchase you make through it. Please read them before ordering. By placing an order you accept these terms.

2. Language and applicable law
These terms are written in English, and the contract between us is concluded in English. Spanish law applies. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the European Union, United Kingdom or the US, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country of residence.
3. What we sell
We sell fine art photographic prints, produced to order in open and limited editions.
Open editions are not numbered and have no fixed maximum quantity.
Limited editions are produced in a stated maximum number of prints. Where a print is described as a limited edition:
- The edition size shown on the product page is the total across all sizes and
mounting options, not per size.
- Each print is numbered, and each is signed by the artist / accompanied by a
signed certificate of authenticity.
- Once the edition is sold out, no further prints of that photograph will be
produced in that edition.
What a print is, physically. Prints are produced on museum-grade papers using archival pigment or C-type processes, as stated on each product page. Paper size includes any white border shown. Because prints are made individually, small variations in colour and paper surface between prints of the same image are normal and are part of the medium. See the note on colour in our Refund Policy.
4. Prices, taxes and currency
Prices are shown [in euro, and where offered in pound sterling] and are inclusive of VAT for consumers. The total payable, including any taxes and delivery costs, is shown before you confirm your order. Standard shipping is free — see our Shipping Policy.
The VAT rate applied depends on your delivery address. Where a currency other than euro is displayed, it is a conversion for your convenience; the currency in which you are actually charged is shown at checkout.
We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order you have already placed. Where a price or product detail is displayed with a manifest error, we are not obliged to supply at that price — see clause 9.
5. How a contract is formed
The display of a print on this site is an invitation to order, not a binding offer.
- You place an order and pay.
- We send you an order confirmation by email. This acknowledges receipt.
- The contract is concluded when we accept your order, which we do by sending the dispatch confirmation — or earlier, if we confirm acceptance expressly.
We may decline an order, for example where a limited edition has just sold out, where we cannot ship to your address, where payment is not authorised, or where we reasonably suspect fraud. If we decline, we refund you in full and tell you why.
Please check your order confirmation. If anything is wrong, email us immediately — we can usually still change it before production starts.
6. Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe, which handles card details directly; we never see or store your full card number. Available methods are shown at checkout and may include cards, iDEAL, Bancontact, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Payment is taken in full at the time of ordering, because each print is made specifically for you. Ownership of a print passes to you on delivery.
7. Production and delivery
Prints are made to order and dispatched from the production facility nearest your delivery address. Production and transit times, customs, tracking, packaging and what happens if a parcel is damaged or lost are all set out in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Cancellation, returns and refunds
Consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal on all standard prints, and separate statutory rights if a print is damaged, faulty or not as described. Both are set out in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. Copyright and what you may do with your print
Copyright in every photograph remains with Silvain Geselle at all times. Buying a print transfers ownership of that physical object and nothing more.
You may:
- display the print in your home, office or premises, including a commercial
premises such as a hotel, restaurant or practice;
- resell or give away the individual physical print you bought;
- photograph the print incidentally, for instance in a picture of your own room.
You may not, without our written permission:
- reproduce, scan, photograph, copy or digitise the image, in whole or in part;
- use the image in advertising, packaging, editorial, merchandise or any commercial
product;
- make derivative works, including crops, composites, AI training datasets, or
mint the image as a token or other digital asset;
- exhibit the print in a paid exhibition presented as the artist’s work without
crediting the artist and notifying us;
- remove or obscure any edition number, signature or certificate.
The moral rights of the artist are asserted. Licensing enquiries — editorial, advertising, publishing or exhibition — are welcome at info@palepeice.com
All text, layout and images on this website are likewise protected and may not be reproduced without permission.
10. Using this website
You may use this site for browsing and buying. You may not attempt to interfere with its operation, scrape or systematically download its images, circumvent any technical measure, or use it for anything unlawful.
We take care to describe every print accurately, but we do not warrant that the site is free of errors or always available. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, and we may withdraw a print from sale at any time before a contract is concluded.
11. Our liability
We are liable to you for foreseeable loss and damage caused by our breach of these terms, and nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — including your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, we are not liable for:
- loss that was not foreseeable at the time the contract was concluded;
- loss of profit, loss of business, or business interruption, where you are buying
otherwise than as a consumer;
- damage caused by unsuitable framing, mounting, hanging or storage after delivery,
including exposure to direct sunlight, damp or heat. Archival prints are long-lived, but they are paper.
12. Events beyond our control
We are not in breach of these terms if performance is prevented or delayed by something outside our reasonable control, including carrier failure, industrial action, extreme weather, or the failure of a production facility. We will tell you promptly, and if the delay is substantial you may cancel and receive a full refund for anything not yet delivered.
13. Complaints and disputes
Email info@palepiece.com first. We aim to reply within 2 working days and to resolve complaints within 14 days; if we need longer we will tell you when to expect an answer.
You may in any event bring the matter before the competent court.
14. Personal data
How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
15. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms. The version that applies to your purchase is the version published when you placed your order, and we keep the date of the last change at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
16. General
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid, the remainder continues to apply. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. We may transfer our rights and obligations under a contract to another business, and if we do, your rights under these terms are unaffected.
